Canvas-WebEx: Your Webex authorization or Webex token has expired

If you encounter issues with your WebEx authorization or token while using the Cisco WebEx module in your Canvas course, follow these steps to resolve the problem and regain access to your virtual meetings.

Error Messages

You might see one of the following messages:

  • "Your WebEx token has expired."

    • Action: Please use the logout button in the upper right of your Virtual Meetings window to log out of WebEx and sign back in.

  • "Your WebEx authorization has expired."

    • Action: Please reauthorize WebEx.

Steps to Resolve the Issue

Follow these steps to refresh your WebEx token and reauthorize your account:

1. Log Out of WebEx

  • In your Canvas course, navigate to the Cisco WebEx module.

  • Click on the Virtual Meetings tab.

  • Click on the Logout button in the upper right corner of the Virtual Meetings window.

2. Sign In with WebEx Meetings

  • After logging out, click on the Sign In With WebEx Meetings button.

  • This action will prompt a sign-in window for WebEx.

3. Authorize WebEx Access

  • Click on the Accept button when prompted.

  • This will grant Cisco WebEx Education Connector the necessary access permissions.

Following these steps should resolve any authorization or token expiration issues, allowing you to continue using WebEx within your Canvas course effectively.
