Faculty & Staff: How to report a spam or phishing email

Spam, also known as junk email, refers to any unwanted or unsolicited email. It is important to report spam or phishing emails received on your FSCJ account to our Technology Department. This helps prevent the spread of malicious emails to other users. This guide provides easy steps to report spam emails using various platforms.

Reporting Spam Emails

Microsoft Outlook for Mac

  1. Find the Spam Message

    • Locate the spam message in your inbox.

  2. Right-Click on the Message

    • Use your mouse to right-click on the spam email.

  3. Forward as Attachment

    • Hover over the "Forward Special" option.

    • Click on "As Attachment" from the dropdown menu.

  4. Send the Email

    • Type spam@fscj.edu as the recipient.

    • Click "Send" to report the spam email.

  5. Delete the Spam Email

    • After reporting, remember to delete the spam message from your inbox.

Microsoft Outlook for Windows

  1. Find the Spam Email

    • Locate the spam email in your inbox.

  2. Create a New Email

    • Click the "New Email" button to open a new message window.

  3. Attach the Spam Email

    • Click and drag the spam message into the new email window.

    • Ensure the message appears in the "Attached" field.

  4. Send the Email

    • Type spam@fscj.edu as the recipient.

    • Click "Send" to report the spam email.

  5. Delete the Spam Email

    • Delete the spam email from your inbox after reporting it.

Webmail

  1. Find the Spam Message

    • Open your Webmail and find the spam message.

  2. Right-Click on the Message

    • Right-click the spam email.

  3. Forward as Attachment

    • Select "Forward as Attachment" from the context menu.

  4. Send the Email

    • Enter spam@fscj.edu as the recipient.

    • Click "Send" to report the spam email.

  5. Delete the Spam Email

    • Remove the spam email from your inbox after reporting.

Office 365 Webmail

  1. Find the Spam Email

    • Log in to Office 365 Webmail and find the spam email.

  2. Create a New Email

    • Click on the "New Email" button to compose a new message.

  3. Attach the Spam Email

    • Drag the spam email into the new message window.

    • Ensure the email appears as an attachment.

  4. Send the Email

    • Enter spam@fscj.edu in the recipient field.
