How to Manage Self-Developed Syllabi

Introduction

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on creating, uploading, and managing self-developed syllabi.

Step 1: Access the Self-Developed Syllabi Section

  1. Navigate to the Self-Developed Syllabi section.

  2. Select the term and course you wish to work on.

Step 2: Download and Edit the Syllabus Template

  1. Review the available fields in the template outline.

  2. Check the fields you want to include.

  3. Click the Download button.

  4. Locate the downloaded template on your computer and edit it as needed.

Step 3: Upload the Edited Syllabus

  1. Click the Browse or Choose File button to locate your file.

    • Note: The button name may vary based on your browser.

  2. Select the syllabus file and click the Upload Syllabus button.

  3. Once uploaded, the syllabus is automatically submitted to your dean for review.

Step 4: Publish the Syllabus

  1. Check the box to publish your syllabus.

  2. Click Save & Finish to finalize the process.

Step 5: Manage Uploaded Syllabi

  • Edit: Return to the syllabus creation page to upload a new document or change publication status.

  • View: Download a copy of the uploaded syllabus.

  • Delete: Remove the syllabus.

  • Last Modified: Shows the last upload date.

  • Dean's Review: Indicates whether the dean has reviewed the syllabus.

  • Copy Link: Generate a shareable link for the syllabus.

Faculty & Staff: Self Developed Syllabus

Once you have entered the Self-Developed Syllabi section, take this opportunity to select the term and course on which you wish to work.

To download a syllabus template, review the fields that are available in the template outline and check any you would like to include. Click the Download button. Required fields cannot be removed.

Locate your downloaded template on your computer and edit it to suit your needs. Then, click the Browse or Choose File button to locate your file.

(The name of the button will depend on which browser you are using. Both options do the same thing.)

Once you have located and selected the syllabus file from your computer, click the Upload Syllabus button. When you upload a syllabus, it is automatically submitted to your dean for review.

After uploading your document, you will need to publish your syllabus before it can be viewed by your students. Simply check the box and click Save & Finish to finalize the process.

Syllabus Management

Edit: Returns you to the syllabus creation page that will allow you to upload a new document to overwrite the existing one. You can also change the publication status of your syllabus.
View: Download a copy of document you uploaded.
Delete: Delete your syllabus.
Last Modified: The last time your syllabus was uploaded.
Dean's Review: Displays whether or not your dean has reviewed the syllabus.
Copy Link: Produce a link in order to share your syllabus wherever necessary.
