How to Record and Save a Webcam Video in Canvas Studio

Introduction

The webcam recording tool is a quick and easy way to make a video using your webcam. You can record media for any length of time, but we recommend keeping your videos under 5 minutes for maximum student attention. This guide will walk you through recording and saving a video.

Steps

  1. Record Video

    • Click the Record button and select Webcam Capture.

 

  1. Allow Access

    • Click the Allow button to grant access to your camera and microphone.

 

  1. Start Recording

    • Click the Start Recording button.

 

  1. Finish Recording

    • Click the Finish button when done.

 

  1. Save Recording

    • View your recording, enter a title, and click the Save button.

    • Click Start Over to record again if needed.

 

  1. View Recording

    • On the My Uploads page, view and manage your video.

 

Additional Information

  • Canvas Studio webcam capture is only supported by Chrome and Firefox browsers. If you use an unsupported browser, Canvas Studio will ask you to switch browsers.

  • You may need to allow the browser to access your camera and microphone.
