Faculty: Where do I go to adopt textbooks in myFSCJ?

This guide provides a step-by-step process for faculty members at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) to adopt textbooks using the myFSCJ portal and Follett Discover.

Steps for Textbook Adoption

Step 1: Log in to myFSCJ

  1. Go to my.fscj.edu.

  2. Log in using your college credentials.

Step 2: Access the Faculty Center

  1. In the myFSCJ portal, navigate to the Center Navigation drop-down menu.

  2. Select the Faculty Center option.

Step 3: Navigate to Textbook Adoption

  1. Click on the Faculty Resources Tile.

  2. In the left-side navigation menu, select Textbook Adoption. This is the seventh option and will redirect you to Canvas.

Step 4: Use Follett Discover in Canvas

  1. Once in Canvas, locate the blue universal navigation bar on the left-hand side of the window.

  2. Click on the Follett Discover button.

Step 5: Submit Your Adoption Request

  1. Select the Faculty button in Follett Discover.

  2. Click the Accept radial selection box.

  3. Click the Submit Adoption Request button at the bottom of the window.

Step 6: Choose the Term and Update

  1. Select the desired term from the drop-down menu.

  2. Click the Update button.

Step 7: Select Textbook Materials

  1. Once your classes populate, type your subject in the search box.

  2. Click the Discover for this course button at the bottom of the tile.

Alternative Options

  • If you do not have materials to adopt for a course, select the option I have no materials to adopt for this course.

  • If only Open Educational Resources (OER) materials are being used, select Only OER material is being used for this course.
