How do I know if my Internet connection is secure?

To ensure your Internet connection is secure, look for the following indicators:

  • The URL should start with https://.

  • Trusted sites often display a padlock icon or mention their encryption.

Additionally, follow these best practices to maintain security:

  • Avoid transmitting confidential information over wireless networks, especially public ones.

  • Exercise caution when visiting unfamiliar web pages.

  • Do not download or install content from unknown sources.

  • Never provide confidential information in response to unsolicited requests via websites or email.

How do I protect my computer against viruses?

To protect your computer from viruses, follow these best practices:

  • Install and regularly update proven antivirus software.

  • Be cautious about visiting suspicious websites, opening unknown email messages, or downloading content from unverified sources.

Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) offer free antivirus software and support. Examples include:
