How to Access Student Content When Separating from the College as an Employee

KB0010977

When an employee separates from the College, their employee credentials will no longer allow them access to the same areas or functions within College systems.

If an employee is also taking college classes at FSCJ, they will have a student account. Each student account has a separate login credential from the employee credential. Employees may be unaware of their student login since their employee credentials provide them access to both employee and student functions as needed within various systems. Our Single Sign-On solution, OneLogin, grants access to the appropriate role based on the login credentials used.

To Determine Your Student Login Credentials:

· Contact the Technical Support Desk at 904-632-3151

· Use the lookup tool to recall your user ID or password: https://portal.fscj.edu/myFSCJAcct/IDHelp.aspx.

To Be Aware of if Separating from the College and Still Enrolled in Courses at FSCJ:

When separating from the College, an employee will lose access to any academic historic emails sent directly to their employee email account and all files stored in their OneDrive account, which are both closed upon separation date.

All messages sent/received within Canvas are retained within the Canvas Inbox.

Upon separation, the user’s preferred email address will be automatically changed from the employee email address to the student email address in myFSCJ and Canvas.

As with many College systems, within Canvas users only have one account, whether using student or employee credentials to log in. That ensures no work is lost if moving from an employee to student position.
