Students: OneLogin Two-Factor Enrollment Instructions

This guide will help students enroll in OneLogin's two-factor authentication (2FA) to enhance account security. Students will need to use either an Android or iOS device that can download the OneLogin Protect app, a mobile phone capable of text messaging, or a personal email address. Follow the steps below to complete the enrollment process.

Requirements

To enroll in OneLogin two-factor authentication, you will need one of the following:

  • Android or iOS Device: Capable of downloading the OneLogin Protect app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Mobile Phone: Capable of receiving text messages.

  • Personal Email Address: Not associated with @students.fscj.edu.

Enrollment Steps

Step 1: Begin Setup

  1. Access the Portal:

    • Open a browser on your computer and visit my.fscj.edu.

    • Log in using your FSCJ username and password.

  2. Start Enrollment:

    • After logging in, you will see options to either [Begin Setup] or [Skip For Now].

    • Select [Begin Setup] to start enrolling in two-factor authentication.

Step 2: Select a Two-Factor Authentication Method

Before continuing, download the OneLogin Protect app on your mobile device if you choose this option. This app is recommended for its ease of use through push notifications. If the app is not an option, you can select SMS or Personal Email.

Option A: Using the OneLogin Protect App

  1. Select OneLogin Protect:

    • In your computer browser, choose OneLogin Protect as your authentication method.

  2. Activate the App:

    • Open the OneLogin app on your mobile device.

    • In your computer browser, click Activate to proceed.

  3. Scan the QR Code:

    • Use your mobile device to scan the QR code displayed in your browser.

    • In the OneLogin Protect app, tap the + symbol to add your account.

  4. Complete Enrollment:

    • Once the QR code is scanned, you will be enrolled in two-factor authentication and redirected to the desired website.

    Note: If unable to scan the QR code, use the [Enter the code instead] option in OneLogin Protect and [Can’t scan the code?] in your browser to get a registration code.

Option B: Using SMS/Text Messaging

  1. Select OneLogin SMS:

    • Choose OneLogin SMS as your authentication method.

    • Enter your mobile phone number, including the area code, and click Continue.

  2. Verify Phone Number:

    • A confirmation code will be sent to your mobile device.

    • Enter this code in your browser to verify and complete enrollment.

  3. Complete Enrollment:

    • You will be redirected to the website you were attempting to access.

Option C: Using Personal Email

  1. Select Personal Email:

  2. Verify Email:

    • A custom verification link will be sent to your email.

    • Click the link to verify and complete your enrollment.

  3. Complete Enrollment:

    • You will be redirected to the website you were attempting to access.

Step 3: Add a Backup Authentication Method

It is recommended to configure a secondary authentication method in case your primary device is unavailable.

  1. Access OneLogin Profile:

  2. Add a Backup Factor:

    • Click Add Factor.

    • Select an additional authentication method and follow the setup instructions to complete the process.
