Summary

This article explains the Microsoft 365 licensing process for newly registered and active students at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). It outlines the access levels to Microsoft 365 features based on student registration status and provides information on the benefits of an active student license.

Microsoft 365 Access for Newly Registered Students

Newly registered students at FSCJ have limited access to Microsoft 365 features until they register for a class. This limited access includes basic online applications but does not include the ability to download and install Office applications on personal devices.

Active Student Status

Students who have registered for at least one class in the last three terms are considered Active. This status grants an upgraded Microsoft 365 license, which includes:

  • Access to Office Enterprise applications

  • The ability to download and install Microsoft Office applications

  • Licensing of the software using their student email address

OneDrive Storage

Active FSCJ students are provided with a OneDrive account featuring 100GB of storage. This storage space is linked to the student's Microsoft 365 account and remains active as long as the student’s email address is valid.

Downloading Microsoft Office

For detailed instructions on how to download and install Microsoft Office applications, please refer to the following KB article.

Conclusion

Understanding the Microsoft 365 licensing process at FSCJ ensures that students can maximize the benefits of their educational tools. By registering for classes and maintaining active student status, students gain full access to valuable Microsoft 365 features, including Office Enterprise applications and extensive OneDrive storage.
