When someone is returning or no longer using the device, it's imperative the device is securely erased to protect both the individual and the data that is on the iPad.

Users may want to "backup the iPad" prior to erasing it When you are returning or no longer using your iPad, it is crucial to securely erase it to protect your personal information and data. This guide will walk you through the steps to back up your iPad to iCloud and securely erase all content and settings.

  • Select Settings 

  • Select iCloud (on left column)

  • Ensure iCloud is on/setup

  • Select Backup (on right column)

  • Ensure iCloud backup is On (green)

  • Select Back Up Now

  1. Open Settings:

    • Tap on the Settings app on your iPad's home screen.

  2. Access iCloud:

    • In the left column, scroll down and select iCloud.

    • In the left column, scroll down and select General.

  3. Access Reset Options:

    • Scroll to the bottom of the right column and tap Reset.
