Students: OneLogin Two-Factor Enrollment Instructions

KB0011001

To complete enrollment, students will need to have one of the following:

  • Either an Android or iOS device that can download the OneLogin Protect app from the Apple or Play store

  • A mobile phone capable of text messaging

  • A personal (non @students.fscj.edu) email address

Begin Setup

Open a browser window on your computer and visit my.fscj.edu. After entering your username and password, you will be presented the option to either [Begin Setup] or [Skip For Now]. Choose [Begin Setup] to enroll in two-factor authentication.

Selecting a Two-Factor Authentication Method

Before continuing with setup, you will need to download the free OneLogin Protect app to your mobile device from the Apple or Google Play store. This app will allow your mobile device to receive a push notification that you can easily accept with a single tap approving your 2nd factor of authentication when needed.

We strongly recommended using the OneLogin Protect app instead of SMS as your default factor, if possible. However, if you do not have a mobile device capable of downloading the application, you may instead select OneLogin SMS or Personal Email on the following screen.

If Selecting the OneLogin Protect App Option
Continue with enrollment by selecting OneLogin Protect from your computer browser from the screen shown below.

Open the OneLogin app on your mobile device, then go back to your computer browser and click Activate to continue.

Next, using your mobile device, scan the QR code on your computer’s web browser. Then, from the OneLogin Protect app, click on the + symbol displayed on your mobile device screen.

After you scan the QR code, you will be enrolled in two-factor authentication and will be redirected to the website you were originally trying to access.

*If you are unable to scan the QR code, click [Enter the code instead] in OneLogin Protect on your mobile device, and in your browser click on [Can’t scan the code?] to receive a registration code that you will need to type into OneLogin Protect.

If selecting the SMS/Text Messaging Option

If you do not have a mobile device that can use the OneLogin Protect application, you can enroll using the text messaging option (OneLogin SMS) as your 2nd factor. To do so, select [OneLogin SMS] then type in your mobile phone number, including area code, and select Continue.

A confirmation code will then be sent to your mobile device. Once you get that code, enter the code to verify and complete your enrollment in two-factor authentication. You will then be redirected to the website you were originally trying to access.

If Selecting the Personal Email Option

If you do not have a mobile device that can use the OneLogin Protect App or receive text messages, you can choose to use your Personal Email as your 2nd factor. To do this, click on [Personal Email] and type in your personal non @students.fscj.edu email address.

A custom link will then be sent to your personal email. Once you get it, click the link to verify and complete your enrollment in two-factor authentication. You will then be redirected to the website you were originally trying to access.

One Last Step!

We highly recommend you configure a backup, or secondary, authentication factor in case your primary device is lost or stolen.

To add a secondary method of authentication, go to https://fscj.onelogin.com/profile2/mfa Here, you can access your OneLogin profile and register your secondary factor/device. Once you’re logged in, you’ll see the following page:

As you see, this user registered the OneLogin Protect app first, so it is their default method. To add another factor, click on “Add Factor” then select an additional factor you would like to use and complete the setup for the new secondary/backup factor.
