This article will cover frequent terms used in OnBase trainings.

Viewing Content in OnBase

  • OnBase Web Client - a browser based version of OnBase, providing seamless access to its features through a web interface

  • Document Type Group – categorize and organize related document types.

  • Document Types – group together documents with similar characteristics

  • Keyword – provide the ability to assign descriptions to documents

Importing Content in OnBase

  • Outlook Integration – enables seamless connectivity between Microsoft Outlook and OnBase.  

  • Disconnected Scanning – involves using a local scanner to digitize physical documents and send them directly into an indexing queue within OnBase, enabling efficient and secure document processing.

Indexing Content in OnBase

  • Batches – multiple scanned documents needing to be imported

  • Documents – types of documents within a batch

  • Pages – singular pages within a document

  • Append – assigns the keywords and document type to the same document

  • Clear Keys – removes keywords to allow re-entry

  • Index – completes indexing for uploading to the server
