Description

Turnitin is a tool that provides plagiarism detection services, as well as a suite of other functions to make grading easier and to allow students to perform peer reviews within written assignments. It is integrated into Canvas as an external/LTI tool, and can be accessed by creating an assignment with the “external tool” submission type selected.

Features/Services

  • Originality Report - Report detailing a submitted document’s similarity to other documents across the internet, in published materials, and within Turnitin’s internal database of submitted student work.

  • Canvas integration - Turnitin can be accessed within Canvas, as well as functioning as a standalone application.

  • Feedback Studio - Easily grade and mark up a submitted document with comments and feedback that are viewable and downloadable by students.

  • Peer Mark - allow students to provide peer feedback and grading.

  • Quick Mark Library - Set up your most commonly-used comments and rubrics to make grading even faster and easier.

Available to

Faculty and Staff - Students can access it to submit assignments only.

There is no cost to faculty, staff, or students

Service Level Agreement

Turnitin is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students and Faculty can use Turnitin’s external help site to request assistance with account issues and issues with the paper repository.
